Animal Friends - snuggly baby boy quilts

I got this quilt pattern by Robert Kaufmann Zoologie Animal Friends - it looked easy, and I wanted to quilt something for my son. See below, my trusty feline friend was quick to help out as well!

This fabric is not only colorful, but a nice, crisp flannel - easy to sew & soft to the touch.

Zig-Zag a fence pattern using the directions. The color contrast with the solid green to bring it all in is just exquisite.

Finished top layer - had to do a few re-tries to make sure the lines evened out 🙄. Now it's finished and time to take to Long Arm Quilter David Hurd to get quilted with a Foxy Friends pattern. It is backed it with Shannon Fabrics Minky in Navy Blue, so extra snuggley for my little one in the back.

It turned out SO GREAT! Look closely at the quilted pattern of animals to match the theme.

Here it is FINISHED on the Long Arm quilting machine:

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

There was so much fabric leftover I couldn't resist the temptation to mix and match different shapes, sizes and another minky fabric on the back, so out came another one!

So I pieced them together and this is what I came up with:

Careful the cats aren't around, because this totally happened!

Sewed it all together and it actually came out larger than the original quilt! Backed it with Shannon Fabrics cuddle in Navy Blue.

My baby boy loves it!
