The sassiest, yet sweetest, Cuddle rag puff quilt
I couldnt resist making a puff quilt for my friend's bundle of joy using the soft, minky cuddle fabric from Shannon Fabrics!! It's a doozy to work with, be prepared for the fabric to be a little squirrely under that needle.
Here is the video tutorial i watched with the original pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Company:
Here the cat has so graciously offered to help cut fabric and plan the quilt layout.

Plan your quilt with the design you have in mind. Play around with the different colors & patterns. Make sure it is to your liking!

The front and the back look the same - i sewed two pieces together and then sewed them all together to make a row.
Note: to really get that "rag", you'll add one or two pieces of flannel cut-to-size in between. I skipped this step for this one, but definitely recommend adding it in. Also, use a walking foot because this is extremely thick!
Then opened them up (pictured below) and stuffed them each with pillow stuffing.

The first half sewn together using Shannon Fabrics Zoologie Fuschia cuddle cakes fabric. Because this is a rag quilt by nature it is not totally important for the fabric to match up perfectly. The first four rows have the pillow stuffing sewn in them you can see they are "puffed" up.

Second half of quilt: shannon fabrics girly girl cuddle cakes

Again with the walking foot...

Sew quilt together as pictures above, then Sew the entire quilt together around the edge. Then bring out the ragging scissors (pictured below) and cut up the fabric that is sticking up with small snips, careful not to go into the puff. Do so around edges as well.

Wash when done on regular with cold water, do NOT use fabric softener. Dry low.
Voila - finished rag puff quilt!

My kids use their rag puff quilts to sit on the leather couch b/c it's warm to the touch and extra comfy for them.
