My mom recently purchased some very nice new furniture for their living room. The color combination in that particular room is very earthy and neutral. Since Mother's day is coming up, I decided to gift her a "splash of color" for her living room. So, I bought a charm pack of 100 individually hand dyed batik charms and made a quilt out of it.

There are tons of videos online for this block (the Disappearing Nine Patch) and pattern. Of course, I used the one from Missouri Star Quilt Company - Thank you, Jenny!!

The individually dyed batiks I bought made a great color combo, especially when both the pattern and colors were completely different!

Here we are piecing everything together after the patches were sewn & cut:

After I sewed it all together, it was time to add a border.

I decided one border wasnt enough to combine all of these colors so I added a second border to bring it all in. The fabric from the first border was used for the backing and binding. Thank you to Quilting by David for doing such an amazing job with the floral quilt pattern (Long-arm Quilting).
